Philip W. Faris, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Faris has a long track record of building market-leading companies in emerging medical markets and has successfully performed at the CEO level for over 20 years in start up, early stage, high growth and turn around/restart situations. Most recently, he served as CEO and Co-Managing Member, Faris Consulting Group, LLC, a consulting and interim executive firm providing advisory and management services to life sciences and high tech companies, institutional investors and early stage companies.
Mr. Faris has served in executive management for Med Diversified, Inc. (formerly e-MedSoft.com) and was CEO of its subsidiaries Trestle Corporation, CypherMedix, Inc. and VidiMedix Corporation. Prior to founding VidiMedix Corporation, he was Founder, Chairman and CEO of Synergie Health Information Systems, Inc. Concurrently, Mr. Faris was also President, CEO and a Director of Primacis Health Information Technology, Inc., formed with Baylor College of Medicine's venture group and now owned by GE Medical Systems. Prior to this position, he was president, CEO and director of Diatek Corporation and its three wholly owned subsidiaries: Diatek, Inc., Neurometrics, Inc. and Arkive Information Systems, Inc. Mr. Faris had previously served as director of business development and, earlier, marketing for IVAC Corporation (which became Alaris, Inc. prior to a merger with Cardinal Health). He had also held senior level general management and marketing positions with Millipore Corporation, Schering Plough Corporation, and Elkins-Sinn, Inc.
Larry J. Miller, Founder, Chairman & Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Miller has treated more than 120,000 emergency patients since training at Chicago's Cook County Hospital, where he earned the Intern of the Year Award. For 10 years, he was Chairman of Emergency Medicine at the five Baptist Health System Hospitals in San Antonio. He is currently the medical director for five Emergency Medical Services organizations.
Dr. Miller brings a rich experience of clinical medicine (30 years as an emergency medicine specialist and opinion leader), in-depth knowledge of intraosseous physiology (directing intraosseous research, human clinical trials and FDA device approval), and business management (20 years directing product development, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, as well as President and CEO of three medical device companies).
Jim Thomsen, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President, Sales
Mr. Thomsen is a seasoned medical device sales and marketing executive, with over 30 years of experience in healthcare and medical devices. With 12 years experience specifically in IV access products, he was consistently top in sales with Jelco, a division of Johnson & Johnson; US Surgical (sales from $3 million to $1 billion in 5 years); Vicra, a division of Baxter; Pioneer Viggo, a division of BOC; and Intertech Resources.
Highly entrepreneurial, Mr. Thomsen founded his own medical device distribution company (Intermedway) in 1989 and grew it to $244 million in six years. He later raised $65 million for the creation of Critical Care Concepts, a device distribution company that was later sold to Cardinal Health. A knowledgeable marketer and innovative thinker, he has consistently exceeded corporate goals.
Eric Eisbrenner, Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Eisbrenner brings strength and experience in the management of small and growing companies in both private and public sectors. He has been involved in start-ups, business turnarounds, mergers, divestitures, business development and strategic planning.
Mr. Eisbrenner has significant operational experience in a variety of industries including financial, biotechnology, manufacturing, software, hardware and pharmaceuticals with sales levels between $5 and $50 million. As an investment banker, he was responsible for raising more than $100 million for the high tech, biotechnologies and emerging businesses in Western Canada. During the last 10 years, Mr. Eisbrenner served as Vice President,Corporate Finance for two securities firms in Western Canada.
Norma Soleno-Devaney, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Soleno-DeVaney brings to Vidacare's executive team 27 years of experience as a senior executive, most recently as CFO of DocuSource LLC, a large document management systems integrator. Prior to that, she held CFO positions with Trestle Corporation, a medical device and clinical informatics firm and IMRI, an IT staffing and e-commerce consulting company. She spent 15 years in public accounting as a partner with Squar and Clarke, a regional CPA firm in Southern California, and earlier with Deloitte and Touche. Ms. Soleno-DeVaney holds a BS in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Gregory D. Hobbs, M.D., MPH, Senior Vice President – Clinical Applications
Dr. Hobbs is an actively practicing and Board Certified Emergency Physician. He has been a senior physician executive for over 18 years and brings extensive experience in management, emergency medicine and trauma, physician adoption of technology, and medical/legal issues to Vidacare.
Prior to joining Vidacare, Dr. Hobbs served as Chief Medical Officer of ACS Healthcare Solutions, Inc., a $5 billion global healthcare consulting and outsourcing company, having founded and then directed their Clinical Transformation and Performance Improvement Practices. While excelling in leadership positions, Dr. Hobbs also served for 12 years as Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Scott & White Memorial Hospital, a level I trauma center and academic medical center, and Texas A&M University College of Medicine. Dr. Hobbs completed an emergency medicine residency at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, after obtaining his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio.
Bob Titkemeyer, Director, Quality and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. Titkemeyer is a senior executive with a rich history of working with medical device companies in the United States and in Europe, specifically in the areas of quality assurance, FDA compliance, new product design and product rollout. Mr. Titkemeyer's responsibilities are to direct Vidacare's outsourced operations model, RA and QA programs and initiatives and produce development and sustaining engineering programs through internal and external resources. He also functions as the company's Chief Quality Officer and is responsible for conformance with all regulatory agencies, including the US FDA, worldwide.
